Roast House
Fit out of the Roast House at Guinness Storehouse
Marcon were appointed by Diageo as principal contractor to deliver the refurbishment at the Guinness Storehouse.
The Roast House is located on Level 1 of the Guinness Storehouse, an area fully visible to visitors throughout the duration of the works. To ensure public safety, we installed appropriate hoarding and maintained a clear, safe pedestrian walkway at all times.
Key works included the deconstruction and removal of the existing barrel structure and steelwork, installation of a vertical backpiece for the island, a curved metal wall with tiling detail, and fully integrated lighting throughout the servery. The back counter and joinery were carefully adapted around existing restrictions, with all new services coordinated to integrate with locked existing systems.
The project faced several challenges, including detailed investigation of existing services, limited size and space, and the need to maintain safe visitor walkways in a high-footfall tourist area.
Precision design and coordination was critical to successfully integrate services while maintaining the visual appeal.
A strict enabling programme, off-site fabrication and carefully sequenced delivery were essential to ensure successful completion
