Reimagining the story of Roe & Co.

Marcon is proud to have delivered the installation of a one-of-a-kind stained-glass sculpture at Roe & Co Distillery entrance staircase. Commissioned by Catch Experiential on behalf of Diageo and designed by Drinksology, we worked closely with their team and our specialists DXF Engineering, and Langan Stained Glass, to transform the staircase into a captivating part of the visitor experience.
The installation takes inspiration from the story of the Roe & Co bottle and liquid, unfolding as guests move through the staircase. Suspended from the ceiling in brushed aluminium frames, the delicate stained glass panels are positioned at varying heights, casting warm, liquid-like tones across the walls and floors.
As visitors ascend, etched words describing the flavour profile of the whiskey begin to appear, enriching the sensory journey. Framed against the grand window overlooking the historic St Patrick’s Tower, the architectural muse behind the bottle’s distinctive tapered form, the artwork gradually resolves into a unified image. The fragmented glass aligns to reveal a striking stained-glass composition depicting the tower, the liquid, and the bottle itself, beautifully reimagining the story of Roe & Co through light, craft and movement.
To ensure seamless delivery, Marcon led a series of design development meetings with all project partners, coordinating every detail to ensure successful completion. Material samples were reviewed and approved collaboratively, and structural specifications were provided to guarantee the safe suspension of the artwork in this high-traffic area.
The distillery remained fully operational throughout the installation, with Marcon’s team working discreetly and efficiently to minimise disruption.
Reflecting on the success of the project, Contract Manager Paul Maginn commented:
“This is a unique masterclass of bringing concept, design and bespoke craftsmanship together through expert coordination and delivery; a resounding success.”
