Northern Quarter Bar Takes Off After Marcon Transformation
Marcon Fit Out have delivered the £1 million refurbishment as Principal Contractor, completing the transformation of the departure’s hospitality space at Belfast International Airport in just nine weeks while working airside within a live airport environment.
The project included a full strip-out, MEP installations, internal fit-out, bespoke metalwork and custom made joinery manufactured by Marcon’s specialist workshop. The completed venue seats 180 guests and features a contemporary bar and restaurant, booth seating, feature planters and a dedicated Bewley’s coffee dock.
The refurbishment forms part of Belfast International Airport’s wider £100 million transformation programme.
Lorcan Hegarty, Contracts Manager at Marcon Fit Out, said: “Delivering a project of this scale airside, within a live airport environment, required careful planning, close coordination and strict adherence to security protocols. With adjacent businesses continuing to trade as usual throughout the works, our team had to manage every stage of the programme efficiently and safely, while minimising disruption and maintaining the highest standards of delivery.”
The newly refurbished Northern Quarter Bar & Kitchen is already delivering strong commercial results, with Mount Charles reporting a 53% increase in pint sales following the launch of its new partnership with Diageo.
For Marcon, Northern Quarter demonstrates how expertly delivered hospitality spaces can create lasting value for clients while enhancing the airport experience.
