A perfect blend at Guinness Storehouse

Marcon have successfully completed the simultaneous delivery of four high-profile hospitality fit out projects within the iconic Guinness Storehouse, one of Ireland’s top visitor attractions.
The works, carried out in live environments, were delivered without interrupting day-to-day operations, allowing the Storehouse to remain fully open to the public throughout.
The four distinct spaces: Arthur’s Bar, 1837 Bar & Brasserie, Market Street, and Roast House each received a bespoke transformation that balances Guinness’s rich history with innovative design and will greatly improve the F&B offering to visitors.
Paul Maginn, Contract Manager at Marcon said; “Delivering four major projects simultaneously in a live, world-renowned visitor attraction required detailed planning, close collaboration with Diageo and all other stakeholders, and total respect for the Storehouse environment. Every area had its own character and complexity, and we’re delighted with the outcome.”
Set on the 5th floor, Arthur’s Bar and Restaurant was transformed into a modern Irish pub experience. The fit-out honours Arthur Guinness himself, blending reclaimed materials, hand-crafted signage, and archive brewing artefacts.
Named after the year oysters were famously paired with Guinness, the refreshed 1837 Brasserie combines brasserie elegance with industrial flair, including an open central kitchen and vintage Guinness-inspired artwork.
On the ground floor, Market Street has been reimagined as a bustling culinary theatre, where guests enjoy views of chefs in action. The space was stripped back and rebuilt to feature contemporary modular seating, an open kitchen, and engaging design features.
Part of the Guinness Brewery Experience, the Roast House immerses visitors in the roasting process, showcasing the sensory essence of Guinness. The refurbishment creates a seamless transition between exhibit and experience.
Despite the scale and complexity of the programme, all four projects were delivered concurrently, requiring careful sequencing, night-time work, and proactive communication with Guinness Storehouse operations.
Paul Maginn added: “Maintaining a live visitor environment while delivering high-spec fit outs across multiple levels of the building was no small feat. We worked closely with Diageo and the Guinness Storehouse team to ensure visitors could continue to enjoy the full experience with no compromise to safety or service.”
The successful delivery of these projects confirms Marcon’s reputation as a trusted partner in heritage, hospitality, and live environments, and celebrates the company’s commitment to craftsmanship, coordination, and client collaboration.
