Marcon Hits the Bullseye with Kaboodle bar Fit-Out
Marcon Fit-Out Ltd has proudly completed the transformation of three vacant units at Strand Road in Derry city into a dynamic, two-level bar and entertainment venue which has just opened its doors.
Situated on the ground floor and basement level of the Holiday Inn Express, the 19,000 sq ft venue is a bold new addition to Derry’s nightlife and leisure scene. Designed with fun and social connection at its heart, the space offers shuffle boards, indoor mini-golf, darts and karaoke booths, making it one of the city’s most anticipated new destinations.
The project involved the full internal fit-out of a shell commercial space, with Marcon delivering a high-spec finish across both levels. The scope of works included:
- Installation of all new MEP services
- High-end wall and floor finishes
- Custom ceiling rafts and feature lighting
- New lift installation for improved accessibility
- External awnings and canopies for enhanced kerb appeal
One of the standout elements of the project is the extensive specialist joinery, all manufactured in-house by our expert workshop team. This includes bespoke bars, DJ booth, stage and surround, wall panelling, book shelving, ceiling features, and custom dart surrounds, giving the venue a cohesive, hand-crafted aesthetic that looks fantastic.
“Delivering this project in a live hotel setting, surrounded by busy city centre thoroughfares, presented unique logistical challenges,” said Marcon Contracts Manager Lorcan Hegarty. “Our team worked diligently to ensure safe and secure access, maintained clear public pathways, and coordinated all deliveries and waste removal with minimal disruption to nearby businesses and pedestrians.
