Building partnerships with McDonald’s

Marcon have worked with McDonald’s since 2008, completing over 650 individual projects ranging from refurbishments and re-image, to extensions, drive thru’s and new build restaurants.

New Build Projects – Projects generally incorporate foundations for new buildings, site drainage, and all external works, incorporating external signage; block paving; excavations to form new external layout; roof works; car park reconfiguration; hard & soft landscaping. Internal works incorporated: demolitions; soft strip out; alterations to fire alarm system; reconfiguration of existing data cabling; installation of new internal walls; ceiling rafts and grids; mechanical and electrical services; ducting; kitchen equipment; flooring; graphics; furniture; counter; digital menu boards; self-order kiosks and IPAD stations. Over the last 3 years, Marcon have completed 16 new build projects.

Refurbishment/ Re-image – In 2023 McDonalds introduced the IRLX (In Real Life Experience) upgrade programme which is designed to provide greater speed, efficiency and choice in how consumers order their food. Separate delivery courier collection areas are being introduced to reflect the rise in their delivery service. The redesign of McDonald’s kitchens and dining areas will better integrate digital sales channels, MyMcDonald’s App, and make smarter use of space and providing restaurant teams with the technology, equipment, and space to work together more effectively and better manage more complex or personalised orders. To date Marcon have completed 62 IRLX Projects with another 21 planned throughout 2025 and 2026.
