Refurbishment at City of Derry airport
Marcon were appointed to carry out the external and internal refurbishment works at the City of Derry Airport. The scope of works incorporated refurbishment to both landside and airside areas, including dining areas; retail units; toilets; offices, business lounge, passport control, arrival and departure areas and luggage collection zones.
The airport was to remain operational throughout all works. Due to the nature of the building and remaining a live airport during works, lighting; signage, IT, Telephone, Check-In, Security Systems and Ground-Air communications were business critical and therefore maintaining continuity of these services was vital. Permit to work system was in place and method statements agreed for any shutdowns outside airport operating hours.
Project completed on time and on budget.
