Marcon has successfully handed over its latest McDonald’s refit. Today is the go-live date for the refurbished Lurgan restaurant after a demanding 4 week transformation.
The significance with this particular project is that it is Marcon’s 100th “Experience of the Future” fit-out.
The “Experience of the Future” concept puts convenience and technology at the heart of the McDonald’s experience. New self-service interactive kiosks allow customers to browse the menu at their leisure, customising orders to their individual preference. While they enjoy their food in the striking new décor customers can use the free to use tablets, charge their smart phone or make the most of the free Wi-Fi. This concept is being successfully rolled out across the UK and Ireland.
The Lurgan restaurant had to be extended on one elevation, completely stripped back to the core and internal alterations had to be carried out to create the new space. Marcon was responsible for all of the works which included full M&E services, kitchen installation, new booth windows, Side by Side dual drive-thru, joinery manufacture and all associated fixtures and fittings.
The stunning new “Art of Food” design has already proved a hit with the returning customers.

Marcon has been working with McDonald’s for the past decade and is consistently one of the global restaurant chain’s leading fit-out contractors having picked up multiple “Contractor the Year” and “Supplier of the Year” awards over the past number of years.
