Marcon has continued its sponsorship of the 2017 Galgorm Resort & Spa Northern Ireland Open, presented by Modest! Golf at Galgorm Castle from August 10 -13.

Once again Marcon is ‘chipping in’ with support for one of Northern Ireland’s most significant sporting events.

Mark McElroy, Director, Marcon comments “We are delighted to continue our involvement with the NI Open as one of the event’s main sponsors.  As Northern Ireland continues to raise its profile as a global golfing destination we are more than happy to associate our brand with the continued success of the event.”

As one of the UK and Ireland’s leading fit-out specialists, Marcon operates in a wide range of sectors such as hospitality, retail, commercial and museum/heritage.  At the NI Open Marcon will utilise the skills of their craftsmen to form many of the display structures throughout Galgorm Castle estate and in particular within the NI Open Village, corporate hospitality and grandstand areas.

The NI Open is increasingly recognised as the European Challenge Tour’s standout event, with an all-time attendance record set last year at 39,721 spectators.

Ross Oliver, NI Open Event Manager adds, “We are delighted to have Marcon on board again in 2017.  The continued support from such a successful local company is the perfect fit for the NI Open.

“Marcon joins an impressive list of corporate supporters whose support is essential to our success. It is thanks to their investment and expertise that we are able to stage an event of international calibre and reputation that visitors flock to in their thousands.”

There has been a special trophy commissioned for this year’s event which has been carved from the Dark Hedges, the local landmark made famous by Game of Thrones.  The final design is unique, inspired by and showcasing some of the attractions that draw overseas tourists to these shores every year.  The NI Open Trophy Bowl is handmade and features iconic landmarks such as Slemish Mountain, the Glens of Antrim and the Giant’s Causeway.

This year’s NI Open will be another occasion for all the family with exciting activities taking place across the estate during tournament week. Galgorm Resort & Spa plan to introduce a new gin festival to this year’s tournament to showcase one of the most popular trends within the NI food and drink sector.
